Eaglesfield Park
Eaglesfield Park is a small open space, located at the summit of Shooters Hill in South-East London, which provides local residents with a splendid environment in which to enjoy exceptional views as it is the highest point in South London and the second highest point in the whole of London. The views extend to the east across Kent and the Thames into Essex and are especially entrancing at sun or moon rise.
Parents appreciate the playground provided for younger children and the space for their older offspring to expend some energy. Picnic tables afford a surface for the consumption of vittals while keeping an eye on the children.
The park, divided as it is by Eaglesfield Road, contains a second, distinct lower part which is largely left in its natural wild state. This area is excellent for picking blackberries and exercising dogs.
